My New Adventure!

Love a new adventure! My friend and business owner in Philipsburg  MT has given me a section of her shop to display and sell my stuff! I have had this desire and passion to start re-purposing items I've collected over the years whether it be from estate sales, antique shops, thrift stores, garage sales, etc.

I have named myself "Attic Charm". A lot of old re-purposed items with a little bit of charm added. I set up this Saturday...have purchased a wonderful distressed display piece of furniture, along with two other display pieces I already have. Having so much fun creating, who knew I would enjoy this type of art.

Glitter, sparkle, Glitter sparkle, Glitter sparkle...anyone! I just love the glitter jars I've pinned on Pinterest and started created my own.

Old lamp shades....well I had just a few hanging around down in the basement, so I purchased white & natural burlap, along with ALL the old linens and lace I've collected over the years and whaaa laaaa....I recovered these shades to sell.

Tags anyone?  Had fun creating and designing these tags, fun stamps, old buttons, old lace, burlap, and lots of glitter.  Selling them and using them as my price tags.

Plan to sell small pieces of furniture, side tables, chairs, etc...will repaint and distress.

My business arrangement with my friend is perfect for me....no pressure....no space rent....she will take a very fare percentage of my sales. All I have to do is create, and sell. I have always wanted to do this and maybe someday have my own shop, this is the best way to get my feet wet and see what the future holds in this industry for me.

So blessed!!!!

Winter Time

Maybe I'm a bit nuts to some, but I actually enjoy "winter". Maybe it's because I don't have to drive in it, or I have a home with large windows and I can enjoy the snow from the inside looking out, or maybe it's just because I like "change". It's my parents fault you know, I started moving at the age of 10 and was exposed to different parts of the country, with different cultures. And I marry a guy who moves me all over the place (in the past 30 years) because of his industry (we are a perfect match btw). So change comes pretty easy for me.

Now that I live in Montana...winter here is real! We just had another 8-10 inches of the glorious white fluffy stuff today!r

Spring will come in due time, but not this month or next, or the next...until then I will find my joy in the beauty of this season. After all God made all the seasons, He must of  liked "change" too.

2013

Well here we are, a NEW year. Wishing you a hopeful "2013", knowing God is on His throne and loves us more than we can understand. I CHOOSE to trust Him in this time of change and uncertainty, and I CHOOSE to have HOPE, God has good things planned for those that believe in HIM.

Happy New Year everyone!

Hot Air Balloon spotted in Philipsburg MT

Wowzaaaa...this is a first for us, we spotted this beautiful hot air balloon last Saturday right outside our front door. It was breathtaking to see this bright colored balloon floating across the mountain backdrop. I captured the sighting the best I could with my camera.

I'll be asking around town about this, maybe someone is giving rides. Wouldn't that be fun to do? Wanted to share a little bit of beauty with you out there in blogdom.

Christmas Splendor

Enjoying the Holiday season here in Montana. I've been decorating up a storm this past week. Between decorating, cutting down tress (8 all together), our town's Christmas Stroll, our ladies "Christmas Tea", at church, and other gatherings...it's been a busy, but fun time for us.

We have an 8 ft tree in the sunporch, always enjoy the ski resort in the distance this time of day, 4 pm, the coloring of the snow and mountains in the background always have a blue tint.
Our 15 ft tree ended up being 12 ft so it would fit in that corner of the dining area.
I've been collecting those vintage "santa" mugs over the years, they remind me of my childhood.
The snow has been falling which really puts us into the Christmas spirit, I have to say...we do enjoy the winter season here in Philipsburg, it's a good thing, since we live here full time now.

Love me a snowman!

Hope your days are filled with Christmas cheer, and your decorating is done so you can now sit back and relax and enjoy the beauty of your home during this festive season.

Blessings from me to you....Merry Christmas!

House Progress...

It's been almost a year since I gave a little peek into our recent "house progress" on my blog. It's been a slow go, but we're getting there. With Pat working pretty steady this past year we've been blessed with the funds to complete more "finish" work and added cabinets to our laundry/mud room.

Love progress and checking off my "to do" list. And this week carpet, tra-laaa !!!! More updates to come after the carpet goes in this week, until then here's a few pics of our progress.

Fireplace mantel, rustic alder, high profile, either a gas insert or a pellet-stove zero clearance to be added later. Mantel crafted by our cabinet maker.

Wood trim around windows and interior wall.

Laundry/mud room.

Of course a few fun items to add to the decor,

Fun door panel from "Real Deals".
Made fun burlap pumpkins for Fall, white burlap with vintage lace ruffle.
Another version with brown burlap and tulle ruffle.
Another version with brown burlap and vintage lace ruffle.

Planted new trees this past Spring, "Autumn Blaze" maples, and we had color this Fall.

Helena MT

Spending the week in Helena MT with my hubby. Enjoying the mild weather, but wait...it's going to change tonight! Big winter blast heading our way, snow and more snow....should be interesting traveling home tomorrow night. Thank goodness we have 4-wheel drive, it will be a winter wonderland around here soon.

I had the pleasure of walking the "Gulch" district area yesterday, the old down town of Helena, fun shops and eateries. Beautiful Fall day. The Gulch area use to be the mining district back in the day, lots of gold and silver in them there hills! LOL

Helena is a flat valley surrounded by beautiful mountains, the sun rise and sun sets have been gorgeous this week.

Today is very difficult day for most of us who voted for change and won't get it now. Trying to find joy in all this madness, but I still have hope and continue to trust in God.
